The Premier Annual International Meeting on Cancer Prevention Research
The future of cancer prevention relies heavily on new molecular technologies that will help identify promising new targets for drug development and surrogate endpoints of drug activity; develop molecular risk models for identifying high-risk cohorts; develop preclinical drug-testing models, such as gene targeting/knockout models; and tailor prevention strategies based on genetic status. This multidisciplinary conference will link the biology of the cancer process with its clinical prevention and reversal in preinvasive stages. It will foster translational research and strengthen the vitally important partnership between basic, clinical, and behavioral cancer prevention researchers and leaders of survivor advocacy organizations. Clearly, the ensuing relationships will bring new agents and therapies more rapidly to the clinic, agents that can effectively prevent or delay the development of life-threatening cancers. This scientifically robust meeting will encompass all the sciences pertaining to cancer prevention, as well as a discussion of the public policy issues important to the field.
