Fourth International Conference on Screening for Lung Cancer
Weill Medical College of Cornell University

We would like to invite you to attend the Fourth International Conference on Screening for Lung Cancer scheduled in New York City from Friday, February 23 to Sunday, February 25, 2001.  All sessions will be held at Weill Medical College of Cornell University at 1300 York Avenue.  The sessions on Friday will be held in the Uris Auditorium and the sessions on Saturday and Sunday will be held on the Weill Auditorium.

The purpose of this conference is to review the early diagnosis protocol, which has been developed as part of a broad collaborative effort.  While the screening and early diagnostic work-up is specified in order to ensure comparability of the results, there is latitude in the specification of the indication for screening (e.g., age, smoking history, occupational exposure) and also in the subsequent intervention once cancer is diagnosed.  Two panels will be held to discuss the underpinnings for the selection of indications and of interventions and a third about the issues of quality assurance.   Further discussions will be held on these topics during the workshops on Saturday.  The workshop reports will be made on Sunday morning.
